The Differences Between Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology
People often get
confused about these two words Beauty therapy and Cosmetology. Both are kept in
a beauty school, all require some form of certification, and both include
cosmetic work that can help clients look beautiful than ever before. Many
people think these two are the same thing, but there are huge differences that
people should be aware of before they settle about their career path.
Beauty Therapy
Beauty therapy is
similar to cosmetology. Nevertheless, the coursework is often different.
Schools specializing in beauty therapy services, such as laser hair removal
training and other beauty therapies, also provide more advanced training.
Besides this, they also provide some of the more common courses that are
offered at cosmetology-specialized schools, such as accredited nail technician
courses.
Cosmetology
Cosmetology is
what most people think about when they first hear of the school of beauty. In a
salon they envisage cutting and shaping to perfection. A few other items that
cosmetology is renowned for are facials, expert manicures and pedicures and
perfect make up looks. One of the main ways to help distinguish between the two
is to note that cosmetology mostly includes items that are more along the lines
of cutting, shaping and fast surface stuff that can be easily reversed, like
facials or manicures.
You will have to
choose between beauty therapy and cosmetology courses once you have selected
which school to attend. Although beauty therapy schools in cosmetics schools
give some of the same, many cosmetics schools fail to teach you how to extract
laser hair.
